The Inspiration

The sweet aroma of salted sea air helped to inspire our Messina line. Messina is coastal region in northern Sicily where goods from all over world come to Europe aboard giant sea vessels. The sound of waves beats insistently against worn steel as docked boats rub against wooden piers. We’ve focused on the texture of the sides of the shipping boats as each marking tells the story of a far away port in an exotic land.
